PTV69.com

For the past two weeks I have been almost nonstop working on the PTV website; perfecting, editing, and getting it just right.  Well it is finally up and although to all of you out there it looks aesthetically exactly the same as it did last year, the actual guts of it are very different.  I can not explain to you how long it has taken to get this site from a basic HTML layout to a fully functioning CMS (Content Management System).  That may not seem interesting to many of you, but for me and anyone else who will be working on the site it is going to be 300 million times easier.  Almost no more coding will be needed and the site can be edited using a simple WYSIWYG editor!! YAY!!!

I can not take credit for the actual CMS.  I am using Concrete5:

concrete5 is an open source content management system (CMS) for publishing content on the World Wide Web and intranets.[1][2].
It enables users to edit site content directly from the page.[3][4][5] This makes the platform easy to use with a minimum of technical skills.[6][7] This feature, combined with a version management for every page[8], are typical of wiki software, another type of web site development software. concrete5 allows users to edit images through an embedded editor on the page.[9]

I have personally enjoyed using Concrete5.  The real work wasn't setting up Concrete5 it was taking our old PTV HTML template and converting it into a fully functioning seamless Concrete5 theme.

We are now accepting votes for the new AM Show lineup!! Check it out and vote straight from the homepage. PTV69.com Vote and enjoy watching PTV on Channel 69 (This can only be viewed from TV's on Purchase College's campus!)

Thanks everyone and keep checking back :)
